Good evening, I prefer VN way of roasting coffee beans, if you mix them with some Arabica coffee, it will be wonderful to taste it. It is not because I am from Viet Nam. Best rgds. - Comment by: Brooke, San Francisco
There is an Italian cafe on Union St. in the Marina district of San Francisco that makes espresso like it tastes in good italian cafes, Emporio Rulli - Comment by: Paolo,Milan,Italy
Although not a coffee fanatic, the high mountain coffee in Costa Rica absolutely flipped me out. Volcanic soil gives it an intriguing, spicy taste I have never found replicated elsewhere. Locals appear to toast it better, so go there (San Gerardo, in the high mountain rain forest, is an excellent place to enjoy a cup), don't try to get it at Starbuck's. - Comment by: Victor Wong Port Moresby Papua New Guinea
Consider rare arabica coffee species like "Blue Mountain" but grown in exotic places like Papua New Guinea. www.pngcoffee.com - Comment by: Kieran, Sydney Australia
Direct trade sounds good for the producers/farmers in these countries as long as they actually get better prices for their product. In our world of shrinking borders and increasing transportation options I think it is great that premium coffee drinkers, through roasters, can help struggling farmers on their way out of poverty. The best thing about it, the fact that it is through investment and not financial aid. Coffee, as most people drink it, is far from the best quality. I think the more people can be educated about coffee, and the sooner we can encourage small farmers in remote regions to focus on quality and not quantity through paying premium prices, the faster the coffee industry will become like the wine industry, where consumers know the value of different regions and varieties. I'd like to see consumers 'revolt against the revolting' and stop buying dodgy coffee from large multinationals who are purely interested in giving farmers the lowest possible price for their produce. - Comment by: Hargot,LA,usa

Good Day, I read your article aboutt coffee magagods. And as a sustainable development advocate here in Mauritania in north west Africa, and our economy is based in fish business, I would be glad to see some fish megagods applying Direct Trade in Mauritania. Sincerely Yours.
